The Codio Player

When you begin a Codio assignment from Coursera, a new tab will open in your browser and the Codio content will automatically start "playing".

Within the player, there are a number of controls you should be aware of:

Settings

A lot of important functionality is under the "Gear" or Settings menu.

Restore Current Files

Sometimes you might want to reset the code file you are working on back to the starter code. You can restore the original file by choosing the settings icon, and then Restore current files

Note: This will only restore files that are currently OPEN. If you are working on a multi-file project and only want to restore one of the files, close the files you want to keep BEFORE using the Restore current files options.

If you only want to undo some changes, see the Code Playback feature below.

Completing assignments

When you have finished an assignment, you need to mark it as completed to pass the grade back to Coursera. This can be done from either:

If there are any assessments in the assignment that have not been submitted, details of these will be shown to allow you to review them before completing the assignment.

Dyslexia support

Codio has a built-in dyslexia support feature which you can turn on by clicking the setting icon (the gear icon), then Theme , and then the Dyslexic option.

The screen should now display like this:

Code Playback

You can right-click on a file open in any tab to access our Code Playback feature which lets you see all the revisions you've made to the code file.

To watch the code be built, click the play button. You can change the speed using the Speed drop-down which is in changes per second. To walk through the changes manually, you can use the “Previous change” and “Next change” buttons. You can drag along the playback slider to find points of interest.

Deleted files

If you delete a file in error, you can also use Code Playback to find that file, review how it was built and where you find your last saved work you can copy/paste from the code playback into a new file you can create
